DISCO BALLS ARE BACK

The Sparkly Statement Stealing the Wedding Spotlight.

If you'd told me a couple of years ago that disco balls would be one of the biggest wedding styling trends on the scene, I might not have believed you. But here we are ~ and I am so here for it!

Whether you’re planning a full-on party vibe or just want to add a bit of glitz to your day, disco balls are having a serious moment in wedding styling. And before you picture a 70s dancefloor (although I’m not knocking it), let me stop you right there ~ this is a glow-up. Think chic, modern sparkle with a cool, editorial edge.

So, what’s the appeal?

Disco balls are surprisingly versatile. They reflect light beautifully, create that magical scattered sparkle, and can work with a range of styles ~from full-blown retro to minimalist luxe. They bring instant joy, movement and personality to your wedding decor ~and they look incredible in photos.

How to style disco balls for your wedding.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to incorporate them:

1. Tablescapes with sparkle
A cluster of small disco balls nestled in between bud vases, candles, or floral arrangements? Yes, please. They catch the candlelight and add dimension without taking over. Perfect for couples who want a fun twist on classic romantic styling.

2. Ceremony statement pieces
I've seen couples hang large disco balls from trees or ceiling beams at their ceremony spot - and it's such a fun, unexpected detail. Imagine saying your vows under a canopy of twinkling reflections. Dreamy.

3. Welcome display with impact
Set the tone from the moment guests arrive with a disco ball-styled welcome area. Pair a few varying-sized disco balls with soft draping, cylinder vases filled with glowing candles, and a beautiful welcome sign. It’s stylish, modern, and a real mood-setter ~ especially as dusk falls.

4. Cake table styling
This is such an easy win! A few mini disco balls dotted around your cake, perhaps paired with mirrored elements or neon signage, gives a cool and contemporary feel.

5. After-dark magic
As the evening draws in, disco balls really come into their own. Add some up lighting or festoon lights and watch the sparkle bounce around the room ~ it’s like a built-in party starter.

A trend that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

What I love most is that disco balls bring a playful energy to your day. They say “we want a celebration”, and they’re a brilliant way to add a touch of your personality to your décor. Whether you go subtle or full sparkle, they make a statement ~ and they’re just plain fun.

So if you’re looking for something a bit different, a bit bold, and very you… why not throw a disco ball (or three) into the mix?

And if you need help styling them in a way that feels cohesive and not chaotic, I’ve got you. ✨
